Art in public spaces.

Art opens the eyes to reality.
The exposure to contemporary art, especially visual art, is still very limited.
If you are not involved with your local art scene you might not even know where to find new, contemporary artists.
Museums or galleries might be the first places that come into mind. But even though museums can be great places to explore art, they do not show the current art of the moment and instead mostly globally established artists.
Galleries collaborate with artists they think will sell to their clients the most and do not necessary show artists that mirror our present time.
Social media gives contemporary art potentially a bigger outreach.
Nevertheless, it can be challenging to find local, young artists on there.
Another barrier is the stereotypes of art being just for the elite or the need of an art degree to be able to comprehend it.
I do not believe in any of these concepts.
From a young age on, I have been bringing my art to the people by exhibiting in vacant store fronts, high schools or grocery stores in the US and Germany.
Art needs to become a part of our daily life.
We need to redefine how we consume art in the physical and digital space.
Art needs to be accessible to a majority of the population because it is a crucial element of how we perceive reality.
And I am happy to contribute to this mirror of reality.
